Bennet - app for Circus! Circus!

Name: Bennet Francie Bellini. She tries to get people to call her 'Ben', with varying success.
PB: Zoe Kravitz
Birthday: April 4th
Homeplace: Portland, OR
Act: Glowstringing, though she'll work in tumbling and juggling whenever she can get away with it.
Journal: glowbugben
AIM: shoepixie
Mini Bio: Bennet rues the day she was adopted by a pair of well-meaning yippies. Truthfully, she couldn't know how lucky she was to have parents who supported her wholly and implicitly. Oh, they meant well, they really did. They gave her everything a little girl could want. But they named her Benét. She'd Anglicised her name by first grade and was looking for a nickname by second. Luckily, going by a boy's name suited her. She was rough and tumble, a little too rough for the girls and even some of the boys. She ran wild, and her parents let her; they didn't want to 'stifle her spirit'. If anything, she was a girl with a little too *much* 'empowerment', and has a mouth on her that rivals her mischievous and sassy nerve.

Luckily, her third year gym teacher got her into certain alternative sports, just in time to save her from a probable ADD diagnosis. Breakdancing. Tumbling. Capoeira. Parkour. Juggling. She loved every one and her parents enrolled her in every program they could find, which in progressive Portland wasn't hard. She's been doing most of them since she was a kid and doesn't intend to stop. She lost a couple years to a pothead haze, but coming out of that was like stepping back out into the sun. With new purpose and inspiration, Bennet got back into shape and decided to run away from home to join the circus. Her parents (not wanting to stifle her, of course, and glad to have her back) gave her a credit card and a nationwide cell phone, and wished her well.

(not my best, but here you go. Obvy, I'll grow into her.)

"Backbends aint' hard." it came out with an (almost) unconscious swagger, the sort of James Dean bravado that only the young and the foolish pull off. And in a moment the girl demonstrated, her lithe form bending until her hands pressed to the cracked dirt, her hair brushing it and collecting dust. Of course this bit of showing off caused her to spill her drink, and she uttered a little cry at seeing the cup tip in her hand. The tiny gathered crowd laughed, and as she straitened she laughed along and wiped at her mouth, chugging down all that was left of the watery beer. Bennet grinned at the laughter of the little group gathered 'round, the lights of the fairways giving her face a contrasted glow. "Somebody gimme another, though..."

No sooner was another handed, however, but it was snatched away again. "Hey!" Ben turned with her dusty hair flying and for a moment she was all spit and vinegar, ready to go to bat over a plastic cup of piss-beer...until her eyes met the roustie who'd had the call to take it away. Her eyes went big, mouth went into an abashed little smile, and her shoulders pulled in, feet shuffling at the ground. "I...I wasn't gonna finish it even. I just...got a dry mouth."

The roustie gave her nothing but a raised eyebrow.
"Now how old're you, again?"
